Cascading Shot Glasses

By Jodi

This time Jodi wrote, "It's nice to hear someone else gets a small thrill out of watching people scratch their heads like monkeys." I personally have more fun making them believe I'm a powerful sorcerer to be feared, respected and paid handsomely or they'll be turned into monkeys, ....but that never happens so I guess I'll have to settle for the head scratching thing." Thanks for another great one Jodi.

Okay, here's my new favorite trick: (Jodi's, not mine)

You need three shot glasses and either a knife or two sip straws (depends on the weight of the shot glasses). Take the first shot glass and place it on the bar, balance the two straws/knife across the shot glass. Submerge the remaining two shot glasses in a sink full of water. Lift out of the sink keeping the open ends held together, making sure the two shot glasses are completely full of water. Balance these two shot glasses on top of the straws/knife resting on the bottom glass. Make sure the top two balancing glasses are a little off center from each other, but no water is leaking out. Tell your guest they have to get the water from the top, upside down glass into the bottom empty glass, without touching or lifting the shot glasses.

How you do it:

Lightly blow in the crack between the top two glasses, you can use a straw, if you don't trust your breath. This should cause the water to pour right into the bottom glass, leaving the top glass empty. Hope you like it. It's nice to hear someone else gets a small thrill out of watching people scratch their heads like monkeys. Jodi

I couldn't get this one to work but I didn't have a straw at the time. Hopefully you'll have more luck
