Bet a sucker that he can't drop a paper match from a foot above the bar and have it land on it's thin edge. Try as he might he'll mever be able to do it. When you try, take the match and bend it in half so that it forms a v when you let it go. When it lands it will land on it's thin side because in now has support.

I appologize to Anthony M.. He sent me this trick last week and I didn't even realize it until I had already posted this. His explanation is better than mine so here it is.

This is a trick that I've always had a good time
performing and works everytime.

Necessities:
One cardboard match from a matchbook

Show the mark (drunk or sober) the matchstick and bet
them that you can throw the match up in the air and
make it land on its side (As in the thin side on the
left/right of matchstick)

Trick:
When tossing the matchstick in the air, bend it in
half. It will land on it's side evertime!
